CAPRICORN Playing Cards. The first of a series of 12 zodiac, multicultural and animated decks

Although it wasn’t the first time he designed playing cards, Stephen W. Brandt (Swabbed Decks) broke in mid-2018 into the world of playing cards crowdfunding with his personal and imaginative style in the Halloween deck. Along last months Stephen has learned a lot about this convulse business and has not stopped offering new and interesting proposals. Now, under the new seal name fig. 23, one of his most ambitious projects begins with CAPRICORN.

Capricorn is not just a deck, but the first in a series of 12 dedicated to the zodiac. In these project, the artist wanted to create traditional cards, easily recognizable, but completely customized. To do this, he has taken as inspiration different continents of our planet to give the court cards an absolutely multicultural style. Thus, each suit represents characters from Europe, Africa, America and Asia with a variation of traditional colors and decorative elements and facial features of each of the different cultures.

One of the main ideas for this new fig.23 seal is that the decks include a flip-book animation, as he did in his previous deck, Clockwork: Empire City. Thus, the faces of all the cards will include an element in the corner that will be animated. You can check it looking at the head video in the campaign.

Although all decks in the series will have the same court and numbered cards, each one will have different jokers (one symmetrical and one asymmetrical), backs and animations.

To guarantee the best quality, the decks will be printed by the USPCC in a limited edition.

Good luck!
