The use of marked decks in the 19th century Wild West was widespread. Marking gave an edge to scammers at the poker tables and was the source of great fights (and occasional deaths). Inspired by the days of cowboys and game, Penguin Magic presents a direct release of their own production: BICYCLE WRANGLERS.
The BICYCLE WRANGLERS deck has been completely customized with a combination of earth colors, like worn by time, that take us to an earlier era. The court cards and jokers show us Ovidiu Stoica’s designs with classic Western characters, lawmen and outlaws, with a structure that respects traditional faces.
The customization of pips and indexes fits the aesthetics of the theme with clear backgrounds and clean designs that keeps a good playability.
Like in previous Penguin’s marked decks, all the secrets are hidden in a highly decorated back, on which Phil Smith has designed an interesting marking system that is easy to understand and learn, allowing the identification of both number and suit in a clean and precise way.
The tuck box will delight Bicycle cards collectors, in a monochromatic composition with the ace of spades as the main element and the cardback on the back. A perforated seal will complete the retro-styled aesthetic.
A limited print-run of 2500 decks has been printed by the USPCC on its classic stock and Magic finish using vegetable-based inks and starch-based laminates on FSC certified paper sourced from sustainable forests.
