THE BOX AND LINE Playing Cards. A different deck, contemporary and with a retro touch

I have always said that one of the greatest satisfactions in my work on this website over the years is to have been able to meet new creators (and the great people behind them) and do my part in making their dreams come true, especially in their very first deck project. A few days ago I met Steven Summers, an explorer of art in motion who has been working in the creative video world for many years. Now he is making his first foray into playing cards design with THE BOX AND LINE.

Steven wanted to do something different, keeping the essence of traditional cards but, at the same time, giving it an aspect that combines the modern and the vintage. To achieve this, simple and visually groundbreaking designs have been made, in which the court characters leave their usual places to fragment and move to the card corners.

The shapes are soft and the colors bold. A design inspired by the 50s and drinking from the sources of modernism. It is, therefore, a customized deck with a very traditional base.

The back is simple and asymmetrical and perfectly fits with the clean and contemporary style of the faces, just as the tuck case does.

The deck will be printed by the USPCC so quality is guaranteed.

If you want to support an artist and help him make his first card work a success, visit the project website and raise your pledge.

Good luck!
