BICYCLE SYZYGY Playing Cards. A cosmic wonder caused by the alignment of the stars

There are decks of cards with an origin really easy to recognize at the first sight. This is exactly what happens with the decks produced by Elite Playing Cards. All share a number of common elements that distinguish them: elegance, maximum details, complex designs, luxurious editions, … Their latest creation does not disappoint at all: BICYCLE SYZYGY.

Behind this peculiar name there is a story and, you know, I love those stories so I’m going to tell it to you. Jay, the man behind Elite Playing Cards, is an amateur astronomer and astrophotographer. He wanted to combine his love for astronomy with his passion for cards and thus Syzygy was born, a deck inspired by the phenomenon of the same name that represents the alignment of three or more celestial objects, often used in reference to the Sun, Earth, and either the Moon or a planet. This phenomenon commonly related to Solar and lunar eclipses has had many representations, interpretations and meanings in the most ancient cultures being even related to certain behaviors of the gods.

The cards are beautiful and fully detailed with intricate designs, where red and gold are the chromatic base. References to the stars appear in jokers and back. The tuck case seems the work of a goldsmith, with an intense red paper in which the designs are depicted in embossed gold foil.

In addition to the Gold Edition, a Platinum Edition will be created, with silver foil and a different back, limited to 750 decks and numbered and autographed by hand.

Both editions will be printed by the USPCC with the highest Q1 quality, custom seals and magic coating.

If you do not want to miss this work of the cosmos, visit the project website and raise your pledge.

Good luck!

About the Author

I'm Max, a collector and passionate about playing cards. Since 2012 I try to spread this passion to everyone who goes through Max Playing Cards. In my articles I do not just talk about cards, as I try to look for the stories and the human beings behind them.

I would like to complete my collection of Bicycle decks some day, but now I know that is impossible ...
