PLAYING ARTS FUTURE Playing Cards. The world in 100 years from the artist’s eye

We have had to wait over a year to once again enjoy one of the most interesting visions of collaborative card art: FUTURE.

This deck is the result of the enormous work behind Digital Abstracts, the online platform responsible for the Playing Arts series of decks.

This creative experiment is based on a similar experience carried out in France between the late 19th and early 20th centuries in which a group of artists “predicted” the future through what they thought it would bring us. Flying cars, recreational vehicles, household vacuum cleaners or machines to make the agriculture work easier. Everything had a place in this futuristic mission of the 20th century.

To make this deck, almost 300 artists submitted their own vision of the world in 2120. From among all the ideas and designs, the Playing Arts team carefully selected 54 cards to compose this FUTURE edition with proposals from all corners of the world.

Thus, this deck is not only a compendium of images full of color and originality, but an authentic museum of visionary works with individual stories to tell. You can see all the cards and also all the artwork sent in the official website.

The back is the same ad the one used in the Special Edition., launched in 2016 and already sold out.

Given the success of the campaign, and after seeing the awesome quality of the illustrations sent, Playing Arts has decided to launch in this campaign a 2500 print-run of the second “chapter” of the deck, that will contain the cards chosen by the own backers. A fantastic initiative that will allow you to enjoy a double dose of artistic expression.

In addition, to thank the huge reception, there will be gift decks in the rewards of four decks or more.

The deck will be printed by the USPCC on Bicycle stock, so the graphic quality will be combined with the best paper and finish.

Funded in one hour, the campaign is being a success and will undoubtedly be one of the most important of the year. If you want to get this special deck, visit the project website and raise your pledge.

Good luck!
