Since he launched his first deck in 2013<\/a>, all Landry Sanders<\/a><\/strong>‘ projects have been depicted on Max Playing Cards. Landry is a persevering designer<\/strong>, who has always pursued his dream and has tried it over and over again to get his decks\u00a0printed. After the beauty<\/strong> of the Rainbow Illusion series<\/strong>, he presents us something completely different: PHONOGRAPH 5<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For this deck, Landry has taken two references from the Victorian era<\/strong> of which he is a fan. On the one hand he has used the invention by Thomas Alva Edison in 1876, the phonograph<\/a><\/strong>, to name\u00a0the deck, although he has taken for the illustrations<\/strong> an invention by Emile Berliner in 1887: the gramophone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, for the court cards<\/strong>, the artist has been inspired by a 1899 deck<\/strong> produced in London by Charles Goodall<\/strong> that has reinterpreted<\/strong> adapting it to a somewhat more contemporary<\/strong>\u00a0scheme.<\/p>\n

Thus, he has created a deck of a classic inspiration<\/strong> with a very careful aesthetic<\/strong> and soft<\/strong> but suggestive<\/strong> colors<\/strong>. The cards keep the playability<\/strong> without losing the originality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The deck will be printed by the EPCC<\/strong> in their classic stock and a print run of 2500 units<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
