Memento Deck. The history and beauty of Playing Cards the cards and their design

The design of playing cards world has changed and grown a lot along last months and card fans have become progressively more and more selective about the decks they support.

This context makes sometimes that very interesting decks, that deserve to be printed by their quality and design, end without achieving their goal. Almost a year ago, Valerio Aversa launched Memento and unfortunately he could not print it as he didn’t get the funding goal. A few days ago, Legends Playing Cards Company decided to retake the project and launched it on Kickstarter: Memento deck.

As I already commented in the previous project, Memento is inspired by the history of Playing Cards design.  This Italian illustrator shows us not only his talent as a creator, but also his passion for playing cards history and evolution. He has made his own interpretation of the history of playing cards in this design, using style based on simple lines and colors but with emphasis on the detail and inspiration on art, where the relevant characters of the universal history are depicted in the court cards.

As I said earlier, I can’t believe at this point why this deck has not been funded yet.  There is a story behind every card and you just need to visit the project website  to learn more about it and to raise your pledge.

By the way! Shipping is included in every pledge level. Just a few days leftLet’s make this a reality!

Good luck!
