THE PLANETS: MERCURY Playing Cards. The first deck in a series of another world

When a few days ago David Goldklang (Vanda Cards) wrote to tell me about his next release I could not help showing my sincere joy. Having become one of the most popular brands through the minimalism of the Vanda Playing Cards series David begins a new creative adventure with THE PLANETS: MERCURY.

After opening his “Artists series” with the Duel deck, David has worked with Srdjan Vidakovic (Widakk), a graphic designer based in Serbia specialized in retro-looking works for beverage companies. This collaboration has resulted in the first deck of a series dedicated to the planets of the solar system. In order of closeness to the king of the sky, Mercury inaugurates this series with a really beautiful deck. The references to celestial elements are constant and the court cards depict imaginary personages of stone-like skin resistant to the high temperatures of the planet.

Two editions will be created with the same cards and different tuck cases: a standard edition of at least 2000 units with black stock and a limited edition of 500 decks with blue stock and numbered seal.

The tuck case is an authentic work of art that will be created by Clove St. Press using a direct printing technology in which the embossing and the foil create authentic masterpieces. With two different foils both outside and inside, these tucks are simply stunning.

The cards will be printed by the USPCC and one of them will be part of a solar system map with others in the following decks of the series.

Undoubtedly, a high-end premiere with a very interesting deck that will leave us anxious awaiting the next. If you like, visit the project website and raise your pledge.

Good luck!
