Bicycle Calaveras. The mexican revolution and the Day of the Dead

The traditional Day of the Dead is the inspiration of this amazing deck by Chris Ovdiyenko: the Bicycle Calaveras.

Chris pays tribute to the work of Jose Posada, a famous nineteenth-century Mexican paintmaker involved in the revolutionary movement, and reinterprets his work in a set of cards full of original designs.

In addition to the cards, Chris offers among its rewards some beautiful signed and numbered xylographies (woodcuts) depicting the artwork used in the deck. They are unique pieces for collectors and art lovers.

The deck will be printed by the USPCC.

Raise your pledge and get more info and videos about deck and wood cuts creation in the project website.

Good luck!

About the Author

I'm Max, a collector and passionate about playing cards. Since 2012 I try to spread this passion to everyone who goes through Max Playing Cards. In my articles I do not just talk about cards, as I try to look for the stories and the human beings behind them.

I would like to complete my collection of Bicycle decks some day, but now I know that is impossible ...
